Top Destinations for Winter Travel Travel 2017

After the holiday season is completed, what’s the best way to start off a New Year? Naturally, by taking a memorable trip to an exciting destination you never visited before. Still, it’s a fact that most people enjoy summertime because of the warm weather, but if you prefer fresh air and picturesque landscapes, nothing beast a winter holiday trip!

St. Petersburg

Whether you’re going to migrate to warmer areas, or have fun in the snow, it’s entirely up to your choice, but in this article we will give you a couple of perfect places to start your adventure!

  1. Quebec City, Canada

Quebec City Winter

Canada is known for the snowy, cold climate that seemingly lasts all year long, and although that might be a drag to locals who need to live under those conditions, it creates a ton of places which are picture perfect for a winter getaway. In my book, Quebec City takes the number one spot. One look at the Quebec Winter Festival is enough to take your breath away, and the cobbled streets covered in snow make Quebec City the ideal destination. The annual Light Festival is a cannot miss attraction, and when you get tired, stop by one of the well-known restaurants offering magnificent food. Don’t forget to pack on a lot of warm clothes,  and you’re guaranteed to have a great trip!

  1. Tonga

Tonga

Are you tired of the freezing temperatures, and cannot wait for summer to arrive? Instead of sitting around and daydreaming, why don’t you do something about it? Visit Konga and have an adventure of a lifetime! This remote archipelago is a hidden gem every experienced traveler should experience first hand. Campers and thrill-seekers simply cannot get enough of this paradise on Earth, as Tonga offers tons of adventures, such as swimming in an underground lake or jumping from a shipwreck! In case you’re not an adrenaline junkie, you can always relax on some of the finest beaches known to man. Make sure you save up though, as this trip won’t be cheap.

  1. Park City, Utah

Park City Utah

Skiing is one of the most fun winter activities, and if this crazy sport got into your blood, Park City, Utah is the place to be. Owned by Vail Resorts, this is by far the largest ski resort in the United States. If you aren’t interested in traveling abroad, here’s your best alternative. Don’t think that this is a compromise, though, as this former mining village definitely has its charm. Apart from phenomenal ski trails, Park City also offers an array of dazzling restaurants and coffee shops as well as boutiques baiting you to buy perfectly tailored clothes. Who claimed you have to travel far away for an amazing adventure?

  1. Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona

Generally regarded as one of the prettiest cities in Europe, Barcelona is a world-renown tourist attraction. Travelers from around the world flock to this stunning place one year after another, and can you really blame them? Considering the epic architecture, gorgeous beaches and friendly locals always willing to party, who wouldn’t want to go here? What most individuals fail to realize is the fact that winter might actually be the ideal time to visit Barcelona. Sure, swimming would no longer be an option, but mild climate, blue sky and tons of festivities turn Barcelona into a fantastic winter destination!

  1. St. Petersburg, Russia

St. Petersburg

While all previously mentioned cities are undoubtedly brilliant, they all fade in comparison to the glorious St. Petersburg! Once you find yourself in this fairy tale place, you’ll understand what we’re talking about. Have you ever seen one of those snow globes? Yep, that’s what this imperial capital looks like in person. Don’t believe us? OK, simply Google photos of Winter palace or icy Neva river surrounded by stunning buildings, and you’ll realize why St. Petersburg is so much ahead of the competition. If you hurry, you’ll be able to catch the annual Christmas Fair, which lasts till January 10th, and is just captivating! Seriously, if you consider yourself a traveler, you have to visit this place, it will change your life forever!
