Web Trends for Digital Nomads in 2018
Are you a trend setter or a trend follower? Whatever the case may be, you probably already understand the importance of keeping up with the tendencies that are happening at any particular moment.
Let me give you an example. Probably the hottest topic right now is Bitcoin, and its meteoric rise in value. If you decided to jump on board now, you’d probably be too late to the party to make a significant impact. However, if you chose to do so only a couple months ago, you’d be ecstatic with the way things have been developing lately. Similarly, there are tons of internet trends for digital nomads happening right now, but how to choose the important ones? Read the article below and enjoy!
The travel industry will continue to evolve
What was the last huge change that happened in the travel industry? We’d say that it was the AirBnB getting stronger. Up to that point, hotels were the ones determining the popular locations for travelers, but with AirBnB the whole planet simply “opened up“.
As with most other things, AirBnB also evolved through the years, and in 2016, it introduced a groundbreaking service called experiences. This allowed the travelers to meet every nook and cranny of the city, with the help of a local. Think about it for a second. How many times were you ripped off by a foreign taxi driver, or have you been served with a meal that’s almost inedible? Because locals know what’s up, you’ll never have to go through this ordeal again.
Analytics will become more important than ever
Until recently, paranoid people were the ones who thought that the government and different agencies are following their every move, but nowadays, it’s a reality. Whether you like it or not is a different question entirely, but you’ll have to accept it sooner or later.
Still, most individuals think of this as a bad thing, but what if all of this data can improve your business? By being able to narrow down your targeted audience with great efficiency, product placement will blossom more than ever before. With the big industry giants, such as Microsoft and IBM investing more and more funds into research every year, the analytic tools are bound to become better than ever. Why not use them to your advantage and maximize your productivity on the road? This will leave you with more time to focus on those truly important things in life, such as traveling and finding that inner peace.
Nomadic way of life will become a thing
How many of your friends truly know the meaning of the term digital nomad? To take it a step further, how many elderly people are familiar with this way of life? While the nomadic lifestyle has been around for ages, it’s just now entering the mainstream. This means that more and more people will take up on this idea in the upcoming months.
Naturally, as a consequence, your favorite destinations will probably become a bit more crowded, but take negatives with the positives. More and more companies will be looking to hire remote workers, new destinations will be discovered, and you’ll probably be able to meet a ton of like-minded individuals. Doesn’t that sound awesome?
Digital nomads will be younger than ever
In my generation, digital nomads were usually the people who wanted to travel for years, but wouldn’t dare to take that final step, until they finally broke that barrier. These things take time, though, and it’s not a surprise that most nomads in the past were 30-50 year-olds. Due to the culture evolving, we now see a constant influx of younger generations, mostly consisting of travelers in their twenties, take the no. 1 spot. Most nomads truly support these young guns, and their desire to explore the unknown. At the end of the day, many older nomads wish they started this journey years ago. In case you belong in this group, and you’re having second thoughts, perhaps the comfort of not being alone will mean a great deal to you.
