Sure, both sides will have to show some flexibility, but where there’s a will, there’s a way. Truth be told, there is no general recipe towards happiness, but if you follow some general rules, these life changes will be a breeze.

Don’t overanalyze it

Right off the bat, we come to the most common mistake travelers make. If you decided to live life to the fullest, stick to your decision, and make it work along the way. Sure, putting everything down on a piece of paper can have a calming effect, but generally speaking, life oftentimes moves on at an incredible pace.

In order to get with the program fast, you have to abandon the common way of thinking, and embrace the adventurous lifestyle that comes with it. Sure, that doesn’t mean you should just jump into the unknown without any safety net, but finding the right balance has always been the key.

Do it now!

Guess what, if you’re waiting for all the stars to line up, your day will never come. The last thing you’d want is to spend your life waiting for some miracle to happen. Naturally, if your kids are still babies, you might want to plan everything accordingly, but think how awesome it would be to raise them is new multicultural environments.

Yeah, they might whine a bit at first, having to miss out on their favorite activity at school, or perhaps abandon their new friends, but life should never get boring. Think how much you would have loved if you had a chance to travel the world from a young age? Wouldn’t you like to give that gift to your closest ones as well?

But what about school?

Did you forget that we live in a digital era? Most schools nowadays have developed special programs for students living abroad. Studies have shown that the level of education gained through these programs oftentimes beats the traditional system we were using so far.

Still, if you want your child to attend a public school, know that there are plenty of international schools across the globe which are more than willing to take on kids of all nationalities and ages. And you thought you were cool because you had a pen pal growing up. This can give them a unique chance to connect with students from different sides of the planet, and forge relationships that can last a lifetime. Doesn’t that sound amazing?

Don’t act like you’re on vacation

Ah, we cannot really blame you for this one. At the end of the day, how can you not relax when you find yourself on a gorgeous sunny beach with a smooth beverage in your hand? Unfortunately, this fairytale cannot last too long.

Taking a short break from your busy schedule is understandable, but you have to know when to draw the line in the sand. Put in the hard work first, and then reap the benefits of your efforts by awarding your family with a nice restaurant meal or a cruise down the ocean. Remember, those bills won’t pay for themselves!
