Top 10 Dream Locations For Digital Nomads

Adventurous people, such as digital nomads, don’t like to settle down in one place. That’s the whole point of being a nomad, to travel around the globe, meeting different cultures, and experiencing contrasting lifestyles first hand. With that in mind, you might wonder, how would it be possible to create this list? Well, they all share some common traits. Because they are dependant of the laptop, they need a steady, high-speed internet connection. Furthermore, they want to live in a good climate, meet fun-loving people, and that should all be relatively inexpensive, if possible. With those things in mind, and much more, we came up with a list of 10 cities ideal for digital nomads.

10. Budapest, Hungary

budapest

We start the list with the capitol of Hungary. If you want to party, eat a delicious meal and pay low rent, this is the place to be. Drawbacks include language barriers, colder climate, and only a few free Wi-Fi hotspots.

9. Taipei, Taiwan

taipei

If you are all about the business, there is no going wrong with Taipei. The whole city is full of free Wi-Fi spots, accommodation is cheap, and people tend to be very friendly. Still, if you are a party animal, you might want to skip this town.

8. Jeju Island, South Korea

jeju island

This is such a beautiful place, perfect if you want to lay back and enjoy the scenery. Internet connectivity is excellent, often times free, it’s not too expensive for everyday life and population is friendly. However, they like their peace and quite, and sadly don’t speak English all that well. That’s a shame, it could’ve been ideal.

7. Las Palmas Gran Canaria, Spain

las palmas

Las Palmas is great for people who enjoy hot climates. And by hot, we mean really hot. People are kind, and willing to keep you entertained, if we might add. It won’t break your bank as well. However, not everything is perfect, as internet connectivity can be bad, and there are only a few free Wi-Fi hotspots available.

6. Perth, Australia

perth

If previous cities don’t suit your needs, and you’re looking for a place with native English speakers, Perth could be the place for you. It is a great place for relaxation, with a very hospitable community. Not everything is fine and dandy though. The internet can be hard to come by, and accommodation costs can go through the roof.

5. Rhodes, Greece

rhodes greece

History enthusiasts will love this place. Among other stuff, you will be able to see one of the seven wonders of the world, the Colossus of Rhodes. This is not the only advantage, as beautiful beaches and sunny weather make Rhodes one of the most popular holiday resorts in Europe. Drawbacks include costs of living and relatively poor internet connectivity.

4. Lisbon, Portugal

lisbon

This city is as gorgeous as they come. It offers some great restaurants and night clubs for affordable pricing. Day-to-day life won’t drain your budget, and friendly people will do their best to make you feel at home. It has a solid number of internet providers. The bad thing is, it isn’t the safest place in the world. It has a very hot climate as well, even too hot for some.

3. Chiang Mai, Thailand

chiang mai

If you like friendly people, look no further, this is the place for you. Even though they don’t speak very good English, they will do their best to make you feel like a king. Still, know that Chiang Mai won’t blow you away with its amazing nightlife. Internet connectivity is average, but it is a very safe place where you can have some great times without spending too much money in the process.

2. Phuket, Thailand

phuket

Nomads usually like to meet diverse cultures, and Phuket is definitely unique. It is an amazing mix of crazy nightlife and traditional values. Accommodation is also very low-priced, and the views are phenomenal. You might have some trouble connecting to the web, and it might be too hot for many. Still, it’s a small price to pay for this piece of paradise.

1. Santiago, Chile

Santiago

We’ve reached number one on our list, and you might wonder what does this town offer that’s so much better than the rest. The answer is simple, it’s excellent all around. Relatively cheap to live in, offers great connectivity, amazing mix of cultures, and a clash of the modern world and natural beauty. We have our champion.
